Tochka is an arts organisation focused on developing transdisciplinary projects that engage with contemporary technological and social transformations. It builds on the legacy of New Tendencies — the movement that redefined the relationship between art and technology in Zagreb in the 1960s.
Polazeći od tog konteksta, Tochka istražuje kako tehnologije poput umjetne inteligencije, kvantnih sustava i robotike oblikuju suvremeno iskustvo te kako umjetnost može djelovati kao kritička i istraživačka praksa unutar tih procesa.
Building on this context, Tochka explores how technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum systems and robotics shape contemporary experience, and how art can function as a critical and research practice within these processes.
Through collaboration between artists, scientists and technology specialists, Tochka develops projects that dissolve disciplinary boundaries and approach technology not merely as a tool, but as a material, social and political framework of the present.

Kroz rad s fenomenima poput rezonancije, entropije, povratne sprege i kvantnih procesa propituje odnose između vidljivog i nevidljivog, mjerljivog i neodredivog.
A transdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of art, science, and technology. In his work, he explores the ways natural and technological systems shape perception, materiality, and the construction of reality. He develops process-oriented artistic structures that can be initiated and guided, yet evade complete control, opening a space between determinacy and uncertainty.
His practice encompasses drawing and painting, sound and light installations, performance, and immersive robotic systems. Through engagement with phenomena such as resonance, entropy, feedback, and quantum processes, he examines the relationships between the visible and the invisible, the measurable and the indeterminate.

Composer and sound artist working at the intersection of music, technology, and perception. His work examines how sound transforms through fragmentation, decay, and recombination, dissolving the boundaries between acoustic and digital realities.
Moving across concert music, live electronics, and multimedia formats, he constructs hybrid environments in which sound, systems, and human gesture collide. Drawing on science, philosophy, and digital culture, his projects interrogate how identity, material, and meaning shift within technologically mediated worlds.
Tri mikroskopske kamere snimaju njezino titranje i prostorne čestice u realnom vremenu.
Dimensions of the Line is a light installation by Hrvoje Hiršl, developed in collaboration with composer Yongbom Lee. A single beam of light, shaped by the human voice, becomes a living, oscillating presence that reveals the hidden movements of dust and air.
It was presented at Yonsei University College of Music in Seoul. A custom-built device, developed with the Institute of Physics in Zagreb, transfers sound oscillations directly onto the beam. Three microscopic cameras capture its vibration and surrounding particles in real time.
Video dokumentacija performansa iz ciklusa Otisci zvuka, izvedenog u sklopu izložbe Ekologije Bauhausa — mreže kontinuiteta u Muzeju suvremene umjetnosti u Zagrebu.
Zvučni valovi oblikuju raspodjelu tonera na aluminijskim pločama, stvarajući stohastičke vizualne kompozicije. Slike nastaju u realnom vremenu kao rezultat interakcije izvođača, zvuka, materijala i fizičkih procesa, a radovi se potom izlažu uokvireni uz dvokanalnu video dokumentaciju procesa.
Video documentation of a performance from the Sound Imprints series, presented as part of the exhibition Ecologies of the Bauhaus — Networks of Continuity at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb.
Sound waves shape the distribution of toner on aluminium plates, producing stochastic visual compositions. Images emerge in real time through the interaction of performer, sound, material and physical processes; the resulting works are later framed and exhibited alongside a two-channel video documentation.
Dimensions of the Line brings together two interconnected processes: the acoustic modulation of light through the human voice and the optical revelation of spatial dynamics. The musical composition written for the work relies exclusively on the human voice, performing verses by the Roman philosopher and poet Lucretius (c. 99 BCE – c. 55 BCE) from On the Nature of Things, one of the earliest philosophical texts to reflect on light, particles, and matter.
The installation was exhibited at Galerija Forum as part of Music Biennale Zagreb. A specially constructed device transfers sound oscillations directly onto a beam of light, causing it to vibrate. Three microscopic cameras capture the beam from different angles and project its motion along with the movement of dust particles activated by subtle air currents, rendering otherwise invisible spatial dynamics perceptible.
Dimensions of the Line was presented as part of House of Learning Systems, an exhibition within Vienna Art Week 2025, at Vienna's historic Funkhaus.
The 21st edition of the festival, themed Learning Systems, approached learning as a dynamic process of recognising, unlearning and rethinking across relationships between nature, technology, society and knowledge.
Is This Life? questions the idea of the contemporary monument and examines what defines living entities. It takes the form of a swarm of spherical robotic objects that move and interact according to the Boids algorithm (collective flocking behaviour).
As a modular system, the installation may vary in the number of porcelain spheres used, which simultaneously confront and respond to the audience that forms a continuous feedback system in which humans and robots alternately become observers, agents, and data. By combining inorganic form with life-like behaviour, the work frames the distinction between living and non-living as an unstable, historically contingent category and invites reflection on emerging symbiotic relationships between humans and technological systems.

TOCHKA hosted American artist and composer Tristan Perich (New York), of Croatian descent, at ZICER in Zagreb, where he performed Noise Patterns — a live-generated composition based on 1-bit digital sound.
Polazeći od probabilističkog šuma, Perich u realnom vremenu razvija ritmičke strukture, pulsirajuće teksture i zvučne tokove, sintetizirane direktno iz koda i izvođene kroz vlastite elektroničke sklopove. Njegov rad reducira digitalni zvuk na najosnovniju razinu — binarne oscilacije — iz kojih nastaju kompleksne i hipnotičke zvučne forme.
Starting from probabilistic noise, Perich develops rhythmic structures, pulsating textures and sound flows in real time, synthesised directly from code and performed through his own electronic circuits. His work reduces digital sound to its most fundamental level — binary oscillations — from which complex and hypnotic sonic forms emerge.
Following the talk, Hrvoje Hiršl and Davor Vincze spoke with Tristan Perich about his artistic practice, mathematics, physics and working with 1-bit sound.
